My name is Cherie Lindquist.  

I am the Special Services/504 Coordinator

for

Harwinton Consolidated School.

Sooo......A little about me!

This will be my 23rd year of teaching.  I was a special education teacher, case managing juniors and seniors, for 3 years at Lewis S. Mills High School before being asked to take on the role of Special Services Coordinator at Harwinton Consolidated School. 

I was inspired to enter the field of special education upon the birth of my cousin's child who was born with significant development delays.   I knew I wanted to make a difference for the families and children of special needs children as I watched Christopher grow and witnessed, first hand, the journey of a special needs child and family.  At the time, more than thirty years ago, resources and services were limited and not what they are today for families and children.  

Chrissy passed away two years ago at the age of 37, having been sheltered and loved all of his life by our family.  He was able to attend my daughter's wedding, just months before his passing.  At the wedding, his thorough enjoyment of the day, as evidenced by his huge smile and his dancing, will be etched in my mind forever.
