Mrs. Norton's Class

Welcome to 3rd Grade!
2021-2022

Welcome to third grade! Our class is made up of 17 students this year! We have 10 girls and 7 boys. As third graders, we will be learning different reading strategies to help us become stronger readers. My goal this year is to get every student to fall in love with reading. Therefore, it is very important that students read 20 minutes every night. Reading with parents is a great way to spend this time!

There are numerous math resources on our school website that have great ideas to help increase computational fluency. We try to spend at least 15 minutes per day practicing our facts. Any additional practice at home would be very beneficial.

There are many exciting topics that we will be learning in both Science and Social Studies. In Science, we will cover motion & design, magnets and butterflies. Our units in Social Studies include studying all about the state of Connecticut.

Every child learns differently, therefore it is imperative that each child gets the services that they need to succeed as a learner. In my classroom they will be constantly motivated and excited to learn, because learning is FUN!

It is important to me to foster a strong home-school partnership. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. Check back periodically to view information updates and don't forget to follow along on Twitter!
