April is Autism Awareness month. The HCS community is committed to helping raise awareness of and knowledge about autism. HCS is going to kick-off the month on April 4th by asking everyone to wear blue.
In recognition of this special month, all of the students and staff at HCS will be receiving custom designed autism awareness “dog tags” to add to their Husky necklaces. The Student Council made special banners that will be displayed throughout the school. Grade-level appropriate lessons about Autism will be taught by classroom teachers; these lessons will help the students deepen their understanding of Autism. Students will also be making puzzle-piece magnets that they can display at home in honor of individuals and families affected by autism.
Thank you to our HCS families that have supported this month by donating Light it Up Blue stickers and creating a bulletin board! We are also appreciative to the parents who will help us make our puzzle-piece magnets!
